Celia Bartlett has over thirty years of experience in working with
photography, and currently works under the name of Ailec Photography and
shortly, also Ailec Design. She has a BA Hons Graphic Design from
Cambridge School of Art at Anglia Ruskin plus a Post Graduate Certificate in
Book Arts from London College of Communication. Celia says, ‘I first began an interest in photography around the age of fourteen when I was able to borrow assorted basic or old cameras. After receiving a brand new Pentax SLR for my twenty-first birthday, I swiftly went on to develop a passion for the art. I was fortunate enough to achieve recognition for my images early on at a local level, confirming that my eye for a picture was a skill worth pursuing. From there I went on to capture landscape and documentary images throughout the following years of world travel and also during every-day life.’ The transition to digital photography began in 2000, with the full switch to a Canon DSLR coming in 2007. Since then Celia ventured into informal portraiture and wildlife photography. She was fortunate to be part of a Canon delegation to Kenya in 2009, and coupled with a trip to Tanzania earlier in 2009, it provided her with the resources for her 2010 exhibition.
