Tiziana Bendall-Brunello is originally from Turin in Italy. She moved to England about 18 years ago where she decided to retrain in art, going to Camberwell College to study Fine art and Ceramics. Since then she has began working professionally using a variety of media to express her interests and ideas. These include sculptures and vessels in porcelain, fused glass bowls and panels and more recently photography. Her work has been exhibited in some of the most prestigious galleries and museums in England, Europe and America including, the Hayward gallery, Sotheby’s, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Turin and SOFA, Chicago, USA. Using garments to explore the fragility and the presence of the body in an indirect way, Tiziana creates porcelain, cast glass and mixed media pieces reminiscent perhaps of the classical Italian sculptures of the Renaissance or of ancient Rome, yet one of her major influences has been Guiseppe Penone of the 1960’s Arte Povera movement.
